Jerry and Lula Board
Jerry and I were married in 1969 in Walton, West Virginia. I was from Clendenin and he was from Walton. I was 17 and Jerry was 19; very young and immature with a lot of hard lessons to learn. After 7 years, we moved from Roane County to Summersville for work opportunities.
We attended Beulah Baptist Church for many years and while there Jerry was called to preach. He helped out both at Beulah Baptist and Walton Union for 20 years. He is semi-retired from his passion of building cars. I am retired from the Nicholas County Board of Education but still work occasionally.
We have 2 children, Jennifer (Mike) Altizer and Jeff (Susan) Board. We have 6 grandchildren. Our oldest grandchildren are Kaley and Andrew Deal whose dad was Jeremy Deal, who was also a member of Little Union and a great influence in the community prior to his untimely death. Our younger grandchildren are Hunter, Taylor, Haleigh and Zoey Board; all have been saved here at Little Union. We are blessed to be able to worship with both of our children and their families.
We both try to serve here at Little Union as best we can and are blessed to be nurtured in the word as it is taught and preached here. We have been at Little Union for 20+ years.

January 26th was our monthly Family Night and featured foods that we may cook when the budget is tight. In keeping with that theme, Joyce McClung and Courtney McClung presented some tips for us on budgeting and making the most of our money. The night included some drawings and a fun game. Joyce and Courtney, you did a wonderful job and gave us all some inspiration for doing better with controlling expenses in the new year.

Father and daughter, Ron George Sr. and Joyce McClung recently allowed us to share in their birthdays before Sunday School. Ron celebrated 86 years on this earth and Joyce celebrated 63. They are so blessed to be celebrating together in church. We love sharing in the church birthdays and anniversaries. Come out at 9:45 for Sunday School opening where we celebrate by singing to you and presenting a small gift.
